LAS VEGAS – Celebrity Chef Kerry Simon’s trendy downtown Las Vegas restaurant, Carson Kitchen, will introduce seasonal menu selections including an array of brand-new entrées, shared plates and desserts, beginning on Monday, Dec. 1.

Executive Chef Matt Andrews’ additions to the menu’s social plate selections will include: jalapeño poppers made with Andouille sausage and cream cheese, priced at $8; and killer shrimp, served with a spicy rocoto pepper cream, priced at $10. Two new flatbread varieties will also be featured, including a buffalo chicken flatbread, priced at $12 and a chili cheese dog flatbread, priced at $14.

Carson Kitchen will introduce delicious new sandwiches such as bison meatloaf sliders, served with crispy onions; and a secret Sunday chicken sandwich, served with a spicy pickle aioli, both priced at $12. Larger plates will include cocoa espresso strip steak, priced at $18; steelhead trout with country bacon relish, priced at $14; pork osso buco with a natural jus, priced at $16; the pork belly carbonara, served with a crispy egg yolk, priced at $12; and the smashed potatoes, Carson Kitchen’s play on a loaded baked potato, priced at $10.

Lighter fare additions include a persimmon & pear salad tossed with quince vinaigrette and hazelnut brittle, available for $10. The popular eatery will also introduce a sweet potato pie in a jar, a modern take on the seasonal dessert, priced at $8.

LAS VEGAS—Twenty lucky players from across the country won more than $200,000 at Boyd Gaming’s sixth annual “Spin Your Way” slot tournament, held at The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Luckiest of all was Par-A-Dice regular Patricia M., who is heading home to Illiopolis, Ill. with the top prize of $100,000.

“I’m going to enjoy living debt-free from here on out, thanks to these winnings,” said Patricia.

“Each year, we love meeting guests from our properties near and far at this destination tournament,” said Laura Delacruz, Boyd Gaming Corporate director of loyalty programs. “For 2014, our Midwestern guests made a huge splash in the competition.”

Artist Info: Gene Watson began his music career by performing in local clubs at night, while working in an auto body shop during the day. His first national hit came off his album Love in the Hot Afternoon. The album’s title track was released in 1975 and quickly reached number three on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. His national success continued throughout the 1970s and 1980s with several top-40 hits, including “Where Love Begins,” “Paper Rosie,” “Should I Go Home (or Should I Go Crazy),” “Nothing Sure Looked Good on You” and “Farewell Party,” which peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Watson’s long career has featured six number-ones, 23 top-10 hits and more than 75 singles.
