Contestants compete across a variety of disciplines, including team roping and bull riding, and the city is transformed by thousands of rodeo fans who fill the streets, hotels and restaurants.

Taking place from 4 – 13 December, visitors can also enjoy live entertainment from country music stars including Lady Antebellum, John Prine and Hank Williams Jr., plus events such as the Cowboy Christmas Gift Show and Cowboy FanFest. Tickets to the rodeo performances are sold to the general public in three packages; the first four performances (4 – 7 Dec, $220/£136), the middle two performances (8 – 9 Dec, $110/£68) and the final four performances (10 – 13 Dec, $220/£136).

Mad Dash tickets are also available from $55 (approx. £34) for individual rodeo events, which give the ticket-bearer the opportunity to find an open seat in the balcony area.  /
