Los Cabos Welcomes Ritz-Carlton at Quivira

THE LOS CABOS CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU ANNOUNCES THE DEVELOPMENT OF QUIVIRA LOS CABOS
A $1.5 Billion Luxury Resort Community with The Ritz-Carlton at Its Core
Los Cabos, Mexico - The Los Cabos Convention & Visitors Bureau has announced plans for the development of Quivira Los Cabos, a luxury residential resort community inclusive of The Ritz-Carlton Los Cabos, Quivira; The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton Los Cabos, Quivira; two Jack Nicklaus-designed signature golf courses and Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Holistic Retreat and Spa. The development, slated to launch in Spring 2008 will span 1,850-acres of secluded property and three miles of pristine beach. Quivira Los Cabos is the most recent project of renowned resort developer, Ernesto Coppel and was inspired by one of the seven legendary lost cities of gold from the 16th and 17th centuries. With an investment of $1.5 billion USD, Quivira Los Cabos will align perfectly with the destination’s portfolio of luxurious and world-class resorts furthering Los Cabos’ upscale appeal.
The concept of Quivira Los Cabos is to deliver luxury, privacy and exclusivity, and world-class amenities and service to guests. Envisioned as a close-knit community where family and friends come to reconnect, Quivira Los Cabos’ luxury branded address will house The Ritz-Carlton Los Cabos, Quivira and The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton Los Cabos, Quivira. The ocean-side resort and five-star caliber residences will bear the gold standard of hospitality. Ownership opportunities at The Residences will range from estates and villas to condominiums and home sites all constructed in the tradition of Mexican-style haciendas. Additionally, the community will include Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Holistic Retreat and Spa. Recognized by premier travel publications such as Conde Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure among the ‘World’s Best’, Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Holistic Retreat and Spa offers 154 guest accommodations including 14 suites, holistic spa and full-service fitness facility.
The two Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses are anticipated to rank among the best in North America highlighted by more oceanfront holes than any other development on the Baja Peninsula. The development of the Quivira Los Cabos courses will add to the destination’s steadfast appeal as a premier golf destination and a mecca for championship golf courses. Currently home to nine courses designed by a “who’s who” of golf course designers, the two Quivira Los Cabos courses increase the number of courses at various stages of development in Los Cabos to eight.
In addition to Quivira Los Cabos, several master-planned communities offering five-star resort amenities and luxury lifestyle are underway. Diamante Cabo San Lucas is an exclusive golf community currently under construction on 1,500 acres encompassing two premier golf courses designed by PGA Tour golfers Phil Mickelson and Davis Love. The community will also feature state-of-the-art golf facilities, beach club, tennis complex, world-class spa, fitness center, swimming pools, equestrian center, ice hockey and other recreational facilities. Along the tourist corridor, the Chileno Bay Club project encompasses 2.5 miles of coastline for two championship courses designed by Tom Fazio as well as a private marina and yacht club and the Inn at Chileno Bay.
Capella Pedregal, a 24-acre community spanning the Pacific coastline to the top of the famed Pedregal Mountain in Cabo San Lucas offers a community of 20 private casonas, 31 residences and a 66-room luxury hotel and Capella Pedregal Yacht club with a prized fleet of luxury sporting yachts. The mega Puerto Los Cabos community just northeast of San José del Cabo at the start of the East Cape is carving out two 18-hole courses, designed by Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman in addition to a marina complex. This inspired growth is certain to insure Los Cabos’ reputation as the premier luxury retreat in Mexico for years to come.
“We are grateful for the significant growth of the destination and we are dedicated to raising the bar in order to present an enhanced vacation experience to our guests,” said Los Cabos Convention & Visitors Bureau President Gonzalo Franyutti. “As Mexico’s leading vacation destination, Los Cabos will continue to maintain its exclusive appeal with steady but intelligent growth.”

Cabo San Lucas Turle Protection
May 8, 2008 on 9:40 am | In Adventure Travel, Baja, Beachbooker, Cabo, Mexico, Outdoors | Comments OffExplore the natural treasures of Los Cabos, Mexico, in particular, one of our world’s most ancient and endangered creatures, the sea turtle.
Just minutes away from Cabo San Lucas’s bustling resort areas, approximately 15 minutes north, lies a long stretch of environmentally protected beaches called Rancho Punta San Cristobal, where visitors can enjoy a morning or afternoon interacting with these endangered species, while doing their part to save the environment.
ASUPMATOMA, the Association for the Protection of the Environment and the Marine Turtle in Southern Baja (ASUPMATOMA), is one local non-profit group there that offers ecological programs, tours and activities for the public, designed to raise awareness and appreciation for the endangered sea turtles and natural environment of Baja California Sur. For more information, please visit www.savetheseaturtles.org
ASUPMATOMA’s programs and activities include tours of its sea turtle nursery and research facilities; summer camp for children; environmental education; and “Adopt a Sea Turtle,” a program where visitors can actually adopt their own baby sea turtle and release it safely to the sea. Please let us know how we can assist you with your upcoming travel stories. Or, if you are planning a trip to Los Cabos, we are currently hosting on-site tours of ASUPMATOMA’s sea turtle nurseries and environmental preserves, and would be happy to arrange for you to tour the grounds with the organization’s founder,
René Pinal, and local biologists. Thank you. Rachel Neppes

Laura Sarti, Jose Luis Sanchez Amezcua/The Baja News (Cabo San Lucas), the Westin Regina Hotel, and many others. In addition to providing sea turtle conservation, research and educational programs, ASUPMATOMA is a committed worldwide advocate of the fight against irresponsible land development in Los Cabos, which is continuing to take its environmental toll on the region’s natural habitat, beaches and surrounding communities.

“Some companies offer adventure tours, while others provide instructional programs, like ski instruction or kayaking courses, but no company specializes in combining the two,” explains All Star Adventures founder Adam Longnecker “Like many top adventure tours, we provide small groups, unique experiences and off-the-beaten-track locations. But we combine this with world-class coaching and carefully-designed instruction programs to give our clients the best of both worlds – a memorable travel experience plus immense personal satisfaction from mastering a new sport or pastime.”
All Star Adventures specializes in unique travel to prime international locations with professional sports instruction for all levels. Offering first-class holiday destinations and encouraging you to expand your cultural and personal horizons. Guests of an all star trip are invited to realize their full potential, while enjoying a vacation and making new friends. “Guides on other adventure tours will offer clients basic instruction, in order that they can complete the trip safely,” explains Rob Kingwill, snowboard coach for All Star Adventures, and World Cup snowboarder, “but we take this to a whole new level by offering comprehensive, flexible instruction that allows clients to improve their performance and gain confidence. Beginners can learn in a relaxed and non-intimidating setting, while intermediates and experts can advance their skills and reach new levels of performance.”
The company’s tours are designed for those who have a genuine passion for travel and enjoy all that goes with it, including breathtaking scenery, stylish accommodations, unique cultural experiences, exotic food and interaction with locals.

Other trips include a Mexico surf adventure, a ski and snowboard trip to Snow Park NZ on New Zealand’s South Island, and a skateboard trip to Las Vegas Nevada in the United States. President and Founder of All Star Adventures put coaching World Cup and Olympic snowboarders aside to found the company. Longnecker explains: “I founded All Star Adventures with a focus on providing destination camps for people interested in action sports. My vision, now realized, was to create unique trips around the world to introduce people to the sports I love and to offer instruction to those already active in these sports.”
