LAN Peru flies San Francisco to Peru

Beginning July 1, LAN Peru — an affiliate of LAN Airlines — will initiate operations to Peru out of San Francisco.
The company will offer four flights per week to Lima on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. LAN Peru’s new service from San Francisco to Lima offers passengers connecting service to multiple destinations in the region including Sao Paulo, Brazil; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Santiago, Chile.
San Francisco will become LAN Airlines and its affiliates’ fourth U.S. gateway, in addition to New York, Los Angeles and Miami.

Horizon Air Offers Double Miles

Horizon Air is offering Double Miles for Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members who travel on Horizon’s new direct flights between San Jose or Sacramento and Spokane and between San Jose and Sacramento, March 26 through May 31.
Mileage Plan members who register for this offer will earn 1,302 miles each way between Sacramento and Spokane, and 1,493 miles each way between San Jose and Spokane.
Because Mileage Plan members earn a minimum of 500 miles each way, the Double Miles total between San Jose and Sacramento is 1,000 miles each way.
Horizon will operate two daily flights between the three cities.
One flight from Spokane will operate nonstop to Sacramento and continue on to San Jose, and a second flight from Spokane will operate nonstop to San Jose and continue on to Sacramento.
This new service includes two daily roundtrip flights between San Jose and Sacramento, facilitating same-day business trips in each direction between the two cities.
Fares between San Jose or Sacramento and Spokane start at $120, while fares between Sacramento and San Jose start at $29. All flights will be operated with 76-seat Bombardier Q400s.

The 78-year-old landmark paved the way to this wilderness best known for harboring authors and artists.
This architectural marvel, one of the top 10 highest single-span bridges in the world (714 feet long, 320 feet span), now serves more than 2 million vehicles annually.
Completed in 1932, Bixby Creek Bridge introduced automobile travel to Big Sur and kicked off a tourism boom for travelers plying the 90-mile stretch of seascapes and craggy coastline.
Today, the region boasts nine State Parks, 15 inns, ancient redwoods, waterfalls and beaches.

The Post Ranch Inn, boasting eco-luxury digs overlooking the sea, features two nights’ accommodations, two one-hour spa treatments, dinner at Sierra Mar and daily breakfast starting at $2,120, double.
Ventana Inn & Spa offers a $250 double rate including a complimentary upgrade and $50 resort credit. Julia Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park offers cottages at Big Sur Lodge, including breakfast and guided hike with bag lunch for two, at $180, double.
