LAS VEGAS – Broadway headliner and two-time Grammy winner Jennifer Holliday will be co-headlining the “Best 10 p.m. Show” in Las Vegas with George Wallace at the Flamingo Hotel, August 19-30, 2008.

Jennifer Holliday has been making music for more than twenty years but is remembered most notably for her 1982 hit single “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.” Holliday revived the song later when she delivered her show-stealing performance in the musical “Dreamgirls.” Her performance in the Broadway musical “Your Arm’s Too Short to Box with God” was what led to her famous performance in “Dreamgirls,” an adaptation of The Supremes’ saga. Holliday returned to the stage in 1985 and appeared in “Sing, Mahalia, Sing.” While starring on Broadway she released several successful pop albums spawning numerous hits including “I Am Love” and “No Frills Love.” Since then she has continued to top the dance charts with hits like “I’m On Your Side,” “A Woman’s Got the Power” and “Think It Over.”

George Wallace is a veteran comedian and winner of the American Comedy Award for “Best Stand-Up Comedian.” He has been featured in his own HBO special, “One Night Stand” and has appeared in several major motion pictures including the Coen Brothers’ hit “Ladykillers” opposite Tom Hanks and Marlon Wayans, and “The Wash” to name a few. In addition, George has appeared on numerous television shows including “Oprah,” “The Tonight Show” and the “Late Show with David Letterman.”

The Donmar Warehouse will have a one-year residency at Wyndham’s theater from September 2008. Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story opened at the Duchess Theatre on August 7, 2007 and is booking through March 28, 2009. The musical returns to the West End, and features greatest hits including Peggy Sue and That’ll Be The Day.

Fan favorite Grease opened at the Piccadilly Theatre on August 8, 2007, cast through the reality TV show Grease Is The Word, the British version of the American television show You’re the One That I Want.

London Sightseeing Pass
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat returned to the West End on July 17, 2007, at the Adelphi Theatre. The part of Joseph was supplied by reality television show Any Dream Will Do, from the BBC TV series.

Hairspray opened in London at the Shaftsbury Theatre on October 30, 2007. Based on the film, which starred actress-turned-host Ricki Lake as teenager Tracy, the musical has already won eight Tony Awards and a Grammy for the cast recording for the Broadway production.

Avenue Q opened at the Noel Coward Theatre on June 28, 2006. “The Prince of Americana” - The New York Times

Jackie Greene, the Americana phenom from Sacramento who made his first album only six years ago and has steadily built up a passionate following, has toured with a who’s-who of American roots music - Buddy Guy, Elvis Costello, Susan Tedeschi, Willie Nelson, B.B. King and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott. He will bring his own tour to Phoenix on Thursday, August 28 to perform at The Rhythm Room. The show will begin at 7:30pm.

Green released his fifth album “Giving Up The Ghost” in April and has been receiving rave reviews.

In the review of the album, The Los Angeles Times said, “IT’S possible, but hardly common, for a singer-songwriter to sound echoes of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Gram Parsons, Elvis Costello and Paul Westerberg, all of which Jackie Greene does on his fifth album.”

Greene recently finished touring with Phil Lesh and Friends, who he joined in 2007, taking most of the lead vocals as well as playing keyboards and guitar – Lesh has described his playing as “impeccable.” In February 2008, when the surviving members of The Grateful Dead reunited to play for presidential candidate Barack Obama, Greene was playing with the band.
