FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Award-winning bicycle tour operator ExperiencePlus! has announced five new trips for 2018 including two options to Bicycle the Portuguese Camino from Portugal to Santiago de Compostela Spain, and three new itineraries in a new line of Bike and Boat tours. With over 40 years of leading and developing bicycle tours ExperiencePlus! continues to craft itineraries with the aim to create meaningful connections through bicycle travel across the globe.
“We are excited to add the ExperiencePlus! touch to Bike and Boat tours. These types of tours are really becoming popular. They have (rightfully) gained so much traction because of the ease of not having to unpack every night while still taking advantage of visiting new places. Our aim was to provide our usual high quality attention to route design and equipment to the small ship experience.” Says co-owner Maria Elena Price.
Biking Amsterdam to Bruges (Plus! Belgium’s Breweries): Bike and Boat Trip
Take 9 days or 12 days to discover the southern region of Zeeland in the Netherlands, finally dipping into the West Flanders region of Belgium (for the land “plus” portion). Stay on a historic barge for the first part of the tour and bicycle through regions known for their phenomenal sightseeing and perfect gentle cycling terrain. Cruise to new destinations as you see first hand how the canal systems in this part of the world operate. Cycle to iconic places including Gouda and past the famous windmills of Kinderdijk, and on the river gain take in the stunning architecture of Holland from a new perspective as you enjoy a canal float. On the extended itinerary enjoy tasting some of Belgium’s best breweries on a land based extension through West Flanders.
Cycling Croatia’s Islands by Bike and Boat
Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast and its islands have been a favorite seaside destination among Europeans for over a century. Explore this spectacular limestone coastline by bicycle and boat. Cycle quiet islands by day and relax on board a luxury gulet (traditional Mediterranean wooden sailboat) each evening. Look forward to cycling three of the Mediterranean’s most picturesque and well-known islands – Brač, Hvar and Korčula – along with lesser-trodden islands like Vis and Solta. Should travelers want a break from the bike there will be ample opportunities to explore tiny fishing villages, swim in the sea or even stand-up paddle board right from our boat.
Cycling the Portuguese Camino (Plus!) Santiago
Choose between a 9-day or 12-day bicycle tour that criss-crosses the Portuguese Camino and follow in the footsteps of royalty such as Queen Isabel of Portugal who did this pilgrimage in the 13th century. This route touches on two routes of the Camino — one along the coast, and the traditional interior route to reach the beautiful towns of Barcelos, Ponte de Lima in Portugal and Baiona, Pontevedra, Padron and Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain. A generous dose of Southern European hospitality and lifestyle makes this a unique and wonderful bicycle tour.
