Tailor-made travel company Audley Travel has announced sailings on a new ship are now available in the Amazon. These sailings fit perfectly into several of Audley’s Peruvian sample itineraries, which combine the land-based highlights of the country with a water-based adventure on the Amazon. For clients wishing to cruise in the Norwegian Arctic in 2019, Audley has access to early booking discounts from its suppliers.
NEW: New ship in the Amazon
Audley Travel is delighted to offer clients access to Delfin III, a ship that offers an immersive rainforest experience whilst travelling in luxurious surroundings. Sailings on the ship fit perfectly into several of Audley’s Peruvian sample itineraries, which combine the land-based highlights of the country with a water-based adventure on the Amazon. A new flight has launched from Cuzco to Iquitos, making it easier than ever before to get there.
After a couple of days exploring Cuzco, the Sacred Valley and bucket-list destination Machu Picchu, clients fly north to the Amazon basin. Here they board Delfin III for a three-night cruise in the Pacaya Samiria Reserve. During the trip, clients will disembark the boat to explore the jungle on foot, watching for wildlife as well as enjoying the native flora and fauna.
Delfin III is a fantastic ship with accommodation in four room classes. Eight suites offer floor to ceiling panoramic windows, with two additional corner suites at the front of the ship. There are 10 Upper Suites on the second deck and the final suite is the Owner’s Suite, the largest on-board. The top deck of the ship houses an indoor and outdoor lounge, a sundeck with plunge pool, a gym and bar. The on-board spa offers Yacamini stone massages, soothing avocado wraps and invigorating coffee-cocoa scrubs.
Shore excursions include wildlife spotting trips, with an expert naturalist guide travelling with each small group. On-board activities include cultural performances, discussions with expert naturalists, and Peruvian cooking classes.
An 12-day tailor-made trip, Wonders of Peru: Cuzco, Machu Picchu and Amazon cruise, costs from £5,935 per person (based on two sharing) and includes flights, transfers, three day cruise, hotel accommodation, excursions and a private car with a guide. OFFER: Fantastic savings on Norwegian Arctic cruises
Audley’s Arctic specialists advise that early booking discounts for cruises in the Norwegian Arctic in 2019 are currently available to pass on from its suppliers, but are expected to only last a short time.
As an example, a seven-night polar cruise ‘North Spitsbergen’ has fantastic wildlife spotting opportunities, with polar bear sightings almost guaranteed. In addition to watching out for wildlife, clients visit an old whaling station and Ny Alesund, the most northerly permanent research base in the world. Active days include a hike across the Arctic tundra, with arctic foxes a common sight.
This trip starts from £3,265 (based on a single berth in a same-sex quadruple cabin – other accommodation options are available) and savings are currently available of up to 10 per cent. The price includes all flights, transfers, berth on the cruise, excursions and hotel accommodation before and after the cruise. For more information visit www.audleytravel.com/the-arctic or call 01993 838652.
Jonathan Goldsmith, Product Manager for Latin America and the Arctic at Audley Travel, says: “We are delighted to be able to extend the wide range of itineraries and boats available to Audley clients, allowing them to design their own tailor-made trip based on their interests, tastes and budget. As always, we recommend speaking to a destination specialist as early as possible to secure the best price and availability of cabins for a trip-of-a-lifetime.”
