Adventure sailing agent VentureSail Holidays has launched a new Trek & Sail experience in collaboration with Mammut Mountain School UK. These two young companies are making waves in the adventure travel market and have created this new experience for those wanting to really seek out and explore remote locations in Scotland that are only accessible by boat.
This bespoke weekend adventure uses 70ft luxury expedition yacht Zuza as its base. The yacht is fully crewed and guests can enjoy double en-suite cabins, freshly cooked meals and learn the ropes as they sail to remote anchorages around the Isle of Mull. Each day an expert walking guide from Mammut Mountain School UK will take guests across un-trodden ground, exploring the Hebrides on a days trek over locations like Beinn Bhearnach, Sgurr Dearg (Graham) and Dun Da Ghaaoithe (Corbette) before meeting the yacht at the end of the day, with hot showers and a three course meal ready and waiting.
“Our customers are always looking for that next hill to climb or a new location to explore – this adventure opens up something new for them in Scotland” says director Sam Sykes of Mammut Mountain School UK “being drop off by boat and picked up after a day of walking really adds something very special to the experience and a touch of comfort at the end of a hard day!”
Although guests need to be at a certain level of fitness to join this trip, no sailing or mountaineering experience is necessary and all of your food, Mammut hiking gear and expert tuition is included in the price. Prices start from £690.
