“Back to School” sales, bright, orange pumpkins and big, yellow school busses all herald the coming of fall. In mid-coast Maine, fall also means it’s time for the annual WoodenBoat Sail-In.

Every September, WoodenBoat opens its doors to the Maine Windjammer Association so that windjamming guests can explore the grounds, the store and the school, and learn about the history of traditional wooden boats. On Tuesday, September 12, this all takes place on Brooklin’s rugged shoreline with scrumptious local food on offer and live music by Flash in the Pans to encourage guests dance the afternoon away.
Windjammers are scheduled to arrive at WoodenBoat between 2 and 3 o’clock, with music and onshore festivities taking place from 4:00-5:30. For more information about the WoodenBoat Sail-In, visit www.sailmainecoast.com or call 800-807-WIND.
