Ski France’s flagship hotel, 3* Hôtel Le Mottaret, offers guests inviting accommodation with doorstep skiing in the centre of Méribel-Mottaret. Although the resort is known as ‘The Island in the Sun’ due to having mainly south, or south-west facing slopes, the Sarenne and Signal de l’Homme offer good conditions later in the season, and there are multiple snow cannons too. Situated just 500 metres away from the centre of Alpe d’Huez grand domaine Ski, Les Chalets de L’Altiport is an ideal base for families and groups of friends. The self-catered chalets (sleeping from 12-16 people) are beautifully decorated in the traditional Savoyard style, with large fireplaces and wood and stone interiors. The kitchen features all the necessary appliances to cook up a storm, and raclette grills can be hired on request. Each of the chalets has a satellite television, free Wi-Fi and its own private balcony or terrace to enjoy the panoramic vistas, in addition to a secluded sauna or hot tub in which to unwind.
