Stonehenge and Salisbury
Today, you will start the day with a trip out to Stonehenge – the world famous prehistoric monument. The ring of standing stones were believed to be constructed between 3000 BC to 2000 BC. One of the most recognised landmarks in the UK, Stonehenge is regarded as a British cultural icon and was added to UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites in 1986. After lunch, you will move on to Salisbury – a medieval cathedral city with a stunning Anglican cathedral with the tallest church spire in the UK! Take a tour inside and discover the world’s oldest working clock (from AD 1386) and the best surviving of the four original copies of Magna Carta. Return to Bath for dinner.
