Now Open: andBeyond’s First Lodge Outside of Africa: andBeyond Vira Vira
andBeyond Vira Vira
andBeyond is thrilled to announce that andBeyond Vira Vira is now open in Chile’s Lake District. This is the brand’s first foray into bringing its ethos of Care of the Land, Care of the People, Care of the Wildlife to a property outside of Africa.
A hub for adventure-enthusiasts with skiing or trekking the Villarrica Volcano, horseback riding, fly fishing, and scenic helicopter rides, the property also features a farm-to-table restaurant, WILDchild program for the littlest explorers, and al fresco dining along the shores of the Liucura river.
The lodge comprises 12 villas, 6 suites and a 5-room hacienda that integrate local furnishings like textured Chilean rugs, hand-woven tapestries, Mapuche artifacts, and restored antiques. The lodge also incorporates the ancient wisdom and way of life of the local Mapuche people into the guest experience, offering a visit to the nearby textile workshop run by local Mapuche tribe.
What else is new at andBeyond
· andBeyond Phinda Homestead in KwaZulu-Natal reopened on September 1 following a major re-build. This sole-use villa offers travelers a completely private safari experience, ideal for family and group travel – no sharing safari vehicles and total control over the day’s schedule.
· At the center of andBeyond’s conservation efforts, andBeyond’s new Phinda Impact small Group Journey starts November 24. This 7-day journey combines wildlife conservation (with an experience like rhino notching or elephant collaring), interaction with the local community, and a day-in-the-life of an andBeyond ranger – from learning tracking to rifle training to sleeping out beneath the stars.
· Travelers can head to India in December for andBeyond’s new India Mobile Camping Small Group Journey, which weaves travelers through Delhi, Kalinjar, Panna National Park, Orccha, and Kuno on a glamping adventure to explore India’s history and wildlife. After sipping chai in Chandni Chowk and exploring temples in Old Delhi, travelers move onto luxury mobile tents in Kalinjar and Kuno. Activities include hiking to ancient forts, searching for tigers, and engaging with local tribes.
