Luxury Colorado Resort Jumpstarts New Year with Wellness Retreat February 15-18, 2018
GATEWAY, Colo. (December 14, 2017) – Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa, the world’s first and only discovery resort created to nourish curiosity in the American West, is pleased to announce the return of its Winter Wellness Weekend, a three-day wellness event taking place February 15 – 18, 2018. The third iteration of this inspirational retreat will encourage guests to recharge their mind, body, and spirit set against the backdrop of Colorado’s peaceful red rock canyons. Throughout the weekend, all guests of the resort will have access to a variety of classes, guest speakers, demonstrations, yoga and special events. Additionally, seasonal spa treatments and outdoor activities will be available for booking.
Commencing on Thursday, February 15, the 2018 Winter Wellness Weekend will kick off with an early afternoon yoga session and a welcome cocktail party with spa chair massages. Guests will then have the opportunity to take part in Self Care Night, learning how to make their own scrubs and face masks. The weekend will feature a curated lineup of wellness speakers, including Derek and Kristen Trombetta, owners of 970 Fitness in Grand Junction who are both certified wellness and fitness coaches, speaking on topics such as how emotions affect the body. Yoga West, based in Grand Junction, will host daily yoga sessions in the mornings and afternoons to help guests rise and rejuvenate.
Health-conscious gourmands can also look forward to Gateway Canyons’ Chef Thomas Hartwell’s popular interactive cooking demos, such as “The Health Benefits of Fermentation in Food” and “The Magic of Miso,” learning how to eat well without sacrificing taste. The speakers and demos are scheduled to engage guests each morning, allowing everyone to unwind and enjoy the resort’s activities and spa in the afternoon. Every evening, a special Wellness Weekend Menu will be offered at the resort’s signature restaurant, Entrada, along with a special prix fixe menu on Saturday night inspired by Valentine’s Day, for those who are looking for a romantic getaway. More speakers and classes are to be announced in the coming weeks.
Room rates for the weekend start at $199, or guests can indulge and opt for the special Spa Rejuvenation package or Taste of Gateway package. The Spa Rejuvenation package, starting at $299, includes two 50-minute spa treatments with a minimum two-night stay, while the Taste of Gateway package, also starting at $299, includes the romantic Valentine’s Day dinner for two at Entrada. Reservations for the Winter Wellness Weekend can be booked here or by calling the resort at (877) 673-4733.
