Asia based luxury hotel group Mandarin Oriental is entering the Caribbean market.
It will rebrand and manage a property on Canouan island in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines which currently operates as the Pink Sands.
It will reflag as the Mandarin Oriental, Canouan and reopen on 1 November 2017.
It has 26 suites and 12 three and four bedroom villas all with ocean views.
Villas have private pools while on-site amenities include restaurants, an outdoor infinity pool, a spa and health club.
The group will also operate the new Residences at Mandarin Oriental which is scheduled to open near the hotel in 2020.
“We are delighted to be introducing the Mandarin Oriental brand to the Caribbean, and to be bringing the group’s legendary service and quality standards to the beautiful island of Canouan,” said James Riley, group chief executive of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
“We believe this will become the Caribbean’s most exclusive luxury getaway.”
It is located on the island’s east coast and can be reached from Barbados, St Lucia and St Vincent via a private jet transfer.
