Marriott plans for huge casino resort in Vegas
Marriott International has unveiled plans for Las Vegas’ next big integrated resort development, with the signing The Drew Las Vegas.
The dual brand resort will see the debut of Marriott’s EDITION brand in Las Vegas and the Strip’s first JW Marriott.
It will rise on the site of the unfinished Fontainebleau Resort which has sat dormant since 2009 when the recession hit.
Overall it will feature nearly 4,000 rooms and suites along with a casino, and half a million square feet of convention and meeting space.
The Drew Las Vegas is the result of a collaboration with global real estate development firm Witkoff and is slated to open in late 2020.
“The Drew Las Vegas will become a landmark property for Marriott International. The resort will give our more than 100 million loyalty members the chance to enjoy our brand of hospitality in one of the most exciting and popular cities in the world, whether the visit is for a convention or a leisure trip,” said Marriott’s global chief development officer Tony Capuano.
The integrated resort will also house entertainment, nightlife, retail and dining options and Two Blackbirds Hospitality will oversee the launch and operations of The Drew Las Vegas.
“With Marriott International, we have the opportunity to leverage the world’s most powerful group and convention pipeline as well as an unmatched loyalty program to ensure we unlock the unparalleled value of this asset,” said Witkoff chairman and CEO Steven Witkoff.
