With the long summer holidays all but over, Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire is highlighting a selection of cottages – many reduced in price – for families keen to book their October half-term getaway.
Properties on offer include Y Fagal, a stone cottage full of character which is just a short walk to Ceibwr Bay and just yards from the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. The house, originally a traditional stone long house and milking parlour, sleeps six in three bedrooms with highlights including rendered stone walls and a large inglenook fireplace with a woodburning stove. Nearby is the bustling seaside village of Newport, with its long sandy beach, plus shops, galleries and restaurants. A seven-night holiday from20 October is now priced at £473, saving £112.
Also packed with character is Ty Uchaf Cottage, just 300 yards from the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path which skirts the Strumble Head peninsula with its stunning clifftop scenery. This carefully restored property – with lofty ceilings, beams and a woodburning stove – sleeps five in two bedrooms and is set in an enclosed garden with a secluded terrace. A short drive leads to the harbour town of Fishguard, with its small shops, galleries and restaurants. A week-long holiday 20 October now costs £434, a reduction of £77.
Or larger parties could opt for Felin Fach, a former water mill now converted into an idyllic holiday home sleeping eight in four bedrooms. It is surrounded by an acre of grounds – surrounded by a stream – with uninterrupted views over open countryside. For maximum cosiness, his spacious property has two woodburning stoves, one in the sitting room and one in the dining/kitchen. Less than five miles away is the tiny fishing village of Porthgain and the beautiful sandy beach at Newgale. Seven nights from 20 October are now priced at £654, saving £69.
