Continuing a planned rollout of properties in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Radisson Hospitality has announced the signing of a hotel in Poland.
The Radisson Hotel & Suites, Gdansk is the first Radisson to open in Central and Eastern Europe. It joins a Radisson Blu that was previously opened in the city.
Ranked the third most visited city in Poland based on airport arrivals, and a popular summer destination for leisure travelers, including families, Gdansk is an important industrial and economic center on Poland’s Baltic Coast. The region generates a significant portion of the nation’s GDP and has seen a major rise in tourist arrivals in recent years.
Gdansk is also one of the most rapidly developing urban and business centers in the country, with a fast-growing MICE sector making the city a key location for business travelers.
The Radisson Hotel & Suites, Gdansk will be centrally located on Granary Island and is part of the Deo Plaza project, a building complex that is to feature a hotel, residential apartments and a range of shops and restaurants.
“We’re immensely pleased to sign the first Radisson hotel in a CEE (Central and Eastern Europe) country, and our second property in the remarkable city of Gdansk. This hotel benefits from a unique location and will become a social anchor in the city,” said Elie Younes, executive vice president and chief development officer, Radisson Hotel Group.
Due to open in the fourth quarter of 2018, the new-build hotel will feature 142 guestrooms and suites (including 12 junior suites, five suites and four apartments).
A second phase of construction, scheduled for opening in April 2019, will increase the hotel’s accommodation to 350 rooms and suites.
The hotel will feature a variety of leisure facilities, including a lobby bar, all-day dining restaurant, gym, spa and swimming pool. There’s also 1,000-square-meters of meeting space set across a ballroom, four function rooms, seven meeting rooms and a separate area that capable of being used as a foyer or a function space.
Located on historic Granary Island in Gdansk, the Radisson Hotel & Suites is near the city’s historic center and many other tourist attractions.
