It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
Universal Orlando is ushering in the happiest season of all with a wide array of experiences for families and friends that take place daily from November 18 through January 6, 2018.
Featuring a brand-new parade with some of the park’s most adored characters from movies such as “Despicable Me,” “Shrek,” and “Madagascar,” Universal Studios partnered with Macy’s to bring more than a dozen new balloons, 15 floats and more than 100 performers to the streets of the park.
Of course, jolly ol’ Santa will be there too.
“I really hope families walk away with a new Christmas memory — one that will last a lifetime” said Laura Salls, Universal Orlando Senior Show Director for Creative Development.
“There are so many layers and things that were put into this parade, that you can see it time and time again and you will develop new memories every time you see it, I promise,” John Piper, Vice President of Macy Parade Studio, who will also be participating in his 37th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year, added.
For Harry Potter fans, Universal Orlando found a way to make “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” even more magical.
For the first time, wizards of all ages can witness what it would be like to celebrate the holidays like the characters they know and love.
Filled with unique and detailed Christmas decorations, both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley are filled with cheer and glee. Throughout the day, visitors can relax and enjoy performances from the Frog Choir, plus Celestine Warbeck and the Banshees.
When the sun sets, sip on warm, cocoa-ey butterbeer and watch as Hogwarts magically transforms into a stage of its own, with projection mapping bringing Harry Potter-themed Christmas scenes to life.
Whether you’re a HP fan or not, the roughly 12-minute show is sure to get you into the Christmas spirit and take your breath away.
“Christmas in the wizarding world is something we’ve worked on for more than two years now to bring to life,” said Michael Aiello, Director of Creative Development for Entertainment at Universal Orlando. “It is massive and something we’re very proud of.”
Harry isn’t the only holiday celebration at the parks.
For those of us who love our Christmas with a side of sarcasm, the “Grinchmas Who-Lindsay Spectacular” is back again with all The Who’s from Who-village. Though the popular show will run eight times daily, be sure to get in line early. After the show, you’ll even have the opportunity to meet the green king of mischief himself for an autograph and photo.
No matter where you are or what attraction you see, all hearts will surely be glowing at Universal Orlando.
